Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Why does the ThemeTimer App flag up warnings on my system?
Great question - and one that certainly needs to be asked! We made a design decision to make ThemeTimer a non-installable program to make it as easy as possible for teachers and presenters to put onto their systems without having to ask IT Support staff to help them install it. The best way to do this is to is release the program as a .EXE file, which is a file type that runs directly without any need for an installation, but (unfortunately for us) also flags up warnings from browsers and Windows.
We do of course absolutely guarantee that ThemeTimer does not contain any viruses!

2. Will the app be blocked by my school's firewall?
We have purposely not allowed the ThemeTimer app ANY network capabilities. It will not connect to any networks. This means that it should NOT be blocked by any firewalls, but we do recommend that you download the trial version of ThemeTimer just to double check that it is compatible with your device.
3. Can I transfer the app to other devices that I use?
Yes! Your licence agreement for this app allows you to transfer the app to as many devices as you like. In order to do this, simply copy/paste the app onto a USB stick (or other portable medium) and drag it onto the second device. That simple portability is another reason we chose to release the app as a .EXE file!
4. Are there any plans to update the app with new themes?
There are plans to release new themes that can be purchased on our website, these will be separate files that will automatically be detected by the ThemeTimer app as long as they are in the same place/folder.
In terms of updating the ThemeTimer app itself, we've decided not to allow the app to connect to the internet at all (so that it won't be blocked by school firewalls). This means that the app won't check for updates. If there are any bugs that are found and need to be fixed, we will update the app being sold on the site directly.

5. How do I change themes on the app?
- The first thing you need to do is find the 'Settings' button. Each theme's settings button is designed slightly differently but should have a 'Cog' icon.
- Click on the drop-down list (next to the word 'Theme') and select the Theme you want.
- Click on the 'Done' button to apply the theme
6. How do I change the ending sound effect on the app?
- The first thing you need to do is find the 'Settings' button. Each theme's settings button is designed slightly differently but should have a 'Cog' icon.
- Click on the drop-down list (next to the word 'Ending Sound') and select the audio effect you want you want.
Quick Tip: The number in the box next to your audio clip selection indicates the 'Kick in' time. This means that the audio effect will activate when there are that many seconds left on the timer. If you set a timer countdown with fewer than the 'Kick in' seconds, a generic audio effect will play instead when it reaches 0.
7. How do I add my own Audio Effects?
The ThemeTimer app allows you to add 5 custom audio effects. In order to add/edit these:
1. The first thing you need to do is find the 'Settings' button. Each theme's settings button is designed slightly differently but should have a 'Cog' icon.
2. Click on the 'Audio Manager' icon on the settings menu (It looks like a pair of headphones with a cog icon within it).

7. Type in the 'Kick in' time (in seconds) - the number of seconds left on the timer at which the audio should start playing (we recommend adding 1 second more to give a chance for your device to start playing that sound).
8. Click on 'Save' then 'Done.
9. Don't forget to then select the audio effect from the 'Settings' menu afterwards - it should now be on that list!
